I got a Kindle for Father's Day. I used Kindle for iPhone quite a bit, but the small screen kinda turned me off after a while. The form factor and readability of the "real" kindle feel just about right, and while it's too big to fit in my pocket, I've still been carrying it around everywhere and reading in my spare time.

What are some good free public domain books to get? Here are a few I read (or am reading) that I liked:

  • Moby-Dick
  • Vanity Fair
  • The Worst Journey in the World
  • The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
  • The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
I'd rather get suggestions from friends than just pick some arbitrary list of Great Books, but if you have a meta-suggestion of a good list of Great Books, I'll check that out as well.
