Franco-American names

Maine oozes French-Canadian heritage. But there are many French-like names that are pronounced in ways that are neither Franco nor Canadian. Here are some examples:
  • Mailhot is pronounced may-yot
  • I've heard Boucher pronounced to rhyme with "sloucher" and as BOO-shee
  • Michaud is often pronounced MEE-shoo, but one of our Congressmen has changed this to MEE-show. Revisionist!
  • Lavoie is pronounced la-VOY
  • Lagasse is pronounced exactly like "legacy"

Can you think of some more?
