I worked for a company that had Linux hardware in a few client sites to act as print servers, firewalls, etc. Once a firewall became unreachable and we had to ask a non-nerd client to go to the console and type a few commands.
"Ok, type sudo ifconfig and tell me what it prints."
"It's asking for a password."
"Now it says...uh..."
"What does it say?"
"'Pause for applause, not a sausage.' What on earth does that mean?"
(embarrassed) "Ah, you might have typed it wrong..."
