Spent the weekend at the lake with my family. There were a few nice breaks in the mostly dreary weather, and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. Got a little sick from all the running around in the cool weather and swimming in the chilly lake, but I'm almost recovered now.
This year my dad came up with a plan: before everyone left, we collected the images from the various digital cameras and burned picture CDs. Everyone got to take home hundreds of cool photos.
Speaking of which, traded in some of my film gear to use as a deposit on a new Nikon D70. Using the D1 was a lot of fun, and I hope the D70 is as much fun. I stopped shooting film because of the investment of money, time and effort in getting digital versions of the images: gotta wait at least a day to get them developed, then gotta carefully go through them to see which are worth scanning (perhaps none), then gotta scan them and hope they look ok. A huge pain, and digital can distill the process down to a single, instant step.
Haven't done much computer stuff in the past week, mostly due to family camp, helping my brother move to Maynard (he lives in the shadow of DEC's old headquarters now), and being sick, but I'm going to fool around with some more Flash stuff. Exciting results will be posted here.
