I am taking The Downeaster
to Boston for a weekend meetup of Internet chums. It should be fun!
If their schedule is to be believed, it should take only 2:35 to get from Portland to Boston, and 2:30 for the return trip. That's not much slower than driving, and it's not too expensive ($44 round-trip), and I don't have to think about parking or traffic or any of that nonsense.
